The dream Pavilion
Dreams are succession of images, ideas, emotions and sensations that occur involuntarily in the mind. They are individual and connected to the unconscious. They range from normal and ordinary to bizarre. Dreams can have varying natures, such as frightening, magical, melancholic, adventurous, etc. The events in Dreams are generally outside the control of the dreamer. Dreams feel real while we are in them. It is only when we wake up that we realize something was actually strange.
The Dream Pavilion is a part of an infinite, fluid, dynamic parametric single surface, which is created from a simple stripe surface that turns twice around itself. The form is permeable to the surrounding environment, creating an effect of fluidity, dynamism and harmony, resulting in a perfect architectural form that gently embraces the environment around, light and visitors. Ambiguity of dreams created in this project is like ambiguity between real image and reflection, empty and full space, object and background, inside and outside; like when we dream, we cannot recognize if we are in or out of our real world.
All the pieces of the project are connected with each other. They are a part of a complex surface, which we cannot see, but every piece take us to another piece. Every character unleashes a wealth of emotions, feeling and desires lost in time, in search of their path, their course, their hope to become real and current.
When we start a creative process, we must be aware of what is the story we want to develop in that place, or if, on the contrary, we want to leave the options open for its visitors to take ownership of it, transforming it to suit them, as it happens in this project “ Dream Pavilion”. The people are completely involved and their presence will change every time the architectural space. In the Dream Pavilion, the people create and see their reflections or the reflection of their reflections with the reflection of the surrounding environment until they lose the sense of reality. The project is completely integrated with its environment and the both of them are in continuous transformation and, like a dream, this transformation is different for each person.
The form of the plan of Pavilion comes from projection of complex surface of the project on the horizontal plan. The total area is 58sqm, and the maximum height of the three structure elements is 4m. The nine double side reflective panels are in different form and dimensions. The Pavilion is accessible from various points.
